How did art change the world?

I don't think that any major has the capability neither the responsibility to make the world a better place, but I believe that being able to do what one enjoys in a healthy way contributes in a small scale to think projects in a more participate, inclusive and emphatic way whit everyone around us. To be fair, I didn't choose my major thinking in anyone but myself and my own desires, but choosing that option helped me to consider those around me and generate relationships that I didn't thought I was capable of making, to be able to see people and the world in a different light. I think that the world would be a better place if everyone had the opportunity to persue their dreams and do what makes them happy instead of what contributes to this society, perhaps in that way humans would be more generous whit one another, less greedy and more cooperative.
